Štúr‘s RoomŠtúr‘s Room is dedicated to the Slovak group of intellectuals from the 19th century. These men collaborated closely with Ľudovít Štúr and played a crucial role in codifying the Slovak orthography and making it our official language. They were the driving force behind the Slovak national revival.
Pribina‘s Knights‘The Pribina‘s Knights‘ Room brings us back to the time of the old Slavic warriors, mostly thanks to its table in the shape of a cross where guests can sit like Pribina‘s knights did centuries ago. There are 12 seats at the table, which is the number of knights in Pribina‘s cohort. Overall, there are 500 seats at the Slovak Pub because according to the legend, Pribina‘s cohort had 500 soldiers. The ceiling shows symbols typical of this time period.
The Shepherd‘s hutThe Shepherd‘s hut is the greatest showpiece of the Slovak Pub. It is the original 200-year-old wooden house of the Pavelica family from the village of Hybe in the Liptov region of nothern Slovakia. It was taken apart and then put together here at the Slovak Pub using 80% of the original material. The pictures on the wall depict sheep farming and the making of traditional Slovak products.
Jánošík‘s roomJánošík‘s room is dedicated to the famous Slovak highwayman who, according to a legend, stole from the rich and gave to the poor. At first Jánošík studied theology but later he turned into a heoric outlaw and is thus regarded by many as the Robin Hood of Slovakia. The legend has been made into a film several times.
The Poets‘ RoomThe Poets‘ Room is dedicated to Slovak writers and poets. Its walls are covered with excerpts from the works of renown poets including the poem by Janko Matuška which eventually became our national anthem.
Slovak Pub is not only the largest bar in Bratislava, but also one of the most popular. It's the most favorite place to hang out for slovak youth while remaining a tourist phenomenon. The bar is divided into eleven rooms, each tuned into different era of Slovak history. For example, one room is an original 150 years old wooden cottage. We won't tell you the rest, come to see them for yourself.
